How Insurance Company Delays Can Affect Your Maryland Injury Claim

When you open up an injury claim after a car accident in Maryland, the insurance companies will do anything they can to delay the process. And so when you’re trying to handle a car accident claim on your own in Maryland, you will likely find delays every step of the way.

One of the major insurance company delays in the beginning of personal injury claims is the investigation—who’s at fault? But there are legitimate reasons: multi-car accidents, for example. Some circumstances where the insurance company does have to talk to their insured, they do have to take a look at the police report, and a couple other things they will have to do before they determine liability. So I will say there’s sometimes it’s legitimate, but a lot of delay from the insurance company is nonsense.
